It’s the first Monday of the first week of fall and I’m feeling ready to get busy.
With what exactly I’m not entirely sure, this feeling is wholly independent from any specific task or project or big life change. It is simply the season, at least in my own head, when we ‘get to it’. It’s the changing leaves, cooler temps, shifting light, wool shift dresses, tights on my legs, and boots that reach my knees. It’s back to school, back to study, back to pencils, and notebooks…the smell of libraries. It’s an enormous psychological shift, for me, away from lazy, hot summer days and into a frenetic buzz of actively firing neural synapses ready to learn, attend, create–grow.
It’s getting cold, so switch on the kettle and make a pot of tea.
It’s getting dark, so switch on the lamp and grab a book.
Dig in, dig down; my favorite season of the year is finally here.
